Privacy Policy

Account information. If you sign up with email and password, we store your display name, email address, and a salted hash of your password — never the password itself. If you sign in with Google, we store your name, email address, Google account identifier, and profile picture URL instead of a password.

Content you create. Charts you create, characters you submit, and votes and upvotes you cast are linked to your account. Charts, submissions, and vote tallies are public by design — that is what the site is for. Your public profile shows your display name, avatar, and join date.

Anonymous voting. You can vote without an account. In that case a random token is generated and stored in your browser’s local storage to keep your votes consistent and prevent duplicates. It contains no personal information and is not linked to your identity.

Usage data. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type. See our Cookie Policy for details.

• To operate your account and keep you signed in.
• To run the site’s core features: creating charts, submitting characters, and time-gated community voting.
• To prevent duplicate votes, spam, and abuse.
• To understand aggregate usage and improve the site.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Account and content data is stored in our database (MongoDB). Uploaded avatar images are stored with Cloudflare R2, our object storage provider. These providers process data on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes.

• Google Analytics — usage measurement. Governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
• Google Sign-In — optional authentication. We receive only your basic profile (name, email, picture); we never see your Google password.
• Cloudflare R2 — storage for uploaded images.

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. If you want your account and personal information deleted, contact us at the address below and we will remove it. Public content such as charts and vote tallies may remain, disassociated from your identity, so community charts stay intact.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To exercise any of these, email us and we will respond within a reasonable time.

AlignmentChart is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Meaningful changes will be highlighted on the site.
